Jury Clears Surgeon of Wrongdoing

February 9, 2016 / admin / lawsuits

In August 2015, Bruce M. Brady successfully defended a surgeon in a medical malpractice case in Queens County, New York. The suit claimed that the surgeon failed to prevent, diagnose and timely treat a postoperative intra-abdominal infection following surgery to remove part of the patient’s small bowel. The plaintiff claimed that she underwent multiple hospitalizations and suffered from intractable pain as the result of her untreated infection. The defense stressed that there was no objective evidence that the patient even had an infection and that many of the patient’s continued complaints were undocumented. After a two week trial, the jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of the surgeon.
